For many people, pop-up books, have this special place in folks' hearts. It reminds us of our younger years with the giant pop-up books we read as children. Now, a new Kickstarter from Poposition Press is asking for pledges for their new project THE POP-UP ART BOOK.
What these folks want to accomplish is taking 6 pieces of art from acclaimed artists and making their art 3D, in pop-up form:
The idea behind this group book is to represent a wide range of contemporary art styles in an exciting new pop up format, and our ultimate goal is to get this book in as many of your hands as possible. After creating and self-publishing our first book, Pop Up Funk with artist Jim Mahfood in 2013, we reached out to other artists with the same simple concept: to take their art apart and then re-construct it as a three-dimensional pop-up spread.
The folks behind this spend a ton of time and hard work turning the pieces of art into the 3D pop-up images within the book. Hear them out yourselves. Check out their Kickstarter video:
