Ladies and gentlemen, we have our first tie! The poll went back and forth as the week carried on, but it was neck and neck the entire time and it looks like the Comic Vine community thinks this is the closest match yet! It's perfectly understandable why the debate was so perfectly divided, too. While the IDWNinja Turtles have a solid numbers advantage and potential teamwork on their side, Deadpool's healing factor is by no means an easy obstacle to overcome, especially when taking into account his more than formidable level of skill, agility and physicals. Both sides earned 46% of the votes and 8% deemed it "too close to call." Well, it looks like we have our first match that is actually "too close to call!"

As for me, I created this one with the belief it was "too close to call." Yeah, the turtles have a numbers advantage and teamwork on their side, but I think their teamwork will fall apart once Deadpool starts running his mouth. Raphael is still easily set off and issue #21 proved he's totally prone to disregarding Leo's orders. Additionally, the IDW turtles only kill as a last resort, so going for lethal measures won't be an immediate factor, and they're immediately unaware strikes that would hinder most may only be a temporary annoyance for Wade. They'll obviously adjust their actions upon seeing that, but it is worth noting. But on the other hand, their shells do provide additional protection from Wade's blades (say that 10 times fast), and while their teamwork may not be a big factor, they are quite skilled (though I'd dispute not as good as a well-written Wade) and thanks to that, someone -- most likely Leo or Raph -- may eventually land a hit which counts as a temporary incapacitation.
All in all, I can see a perfectly rational argument being presented for either side. Deadpool's biggest advantages are his skill (yes, believe it or not, he is very skilled), insanely accelerated healing factor and his ability to disrupt their teamwork with his nonstop banter (also, a single grenade could be a rather big wild card if used properly). Meanwhile, there's no denying the numbers advantage the turtles have and when combined with their more than adequate skill, physicals and weapons, they do indeed have what it takes to potentially win in due time. One-on-one they'd absolutely go down against a properly written Wade, but as a group? The potential is definitely there. At the end of the day, this is without question a fight that would be awesome to see regardless of who's left standing. But who cares what I think? Let's see what a few other people have to say about this melee!

"I was going to get into a whole big thing, but I think we all know how this fight really ends. There is no way these characters meet and don't end up just sharing pizza, video games, and hanging out. So I went with too close to call, but only because it was the only neutral option. The truth is when the Turtles meet Deadpool, we win.

"Gregg, you're insane. These guys aren't going to fight. Here's what happens, the turtles spot Deadpool walking around, whistling. They confront him because well, I dunno. Deadpool sees the turtles and is all like "OMG! Talking turtles? I'm going to build you an aquatic habitat." The turtles are very confused by this, but they feel they need a cooler looking living space, so Deadpool builds them a really bad looking, giant habitat, in an old aquarium. The turtles are displeased with it, but welcome Deadpool as a friend because he did something nice for them. Then, they all go and kill Krang together. The end. The real winner is whoever makes this into an actual comic book."

"For once, I think one of these is too close to call, but not for the reasons you might think. Now I figure the turtles get the drop on Wade because, despite being a ninja assassin, stealth and subtlety were never his strong suit, but once the battle begins, and it would be an even one as the turtles ARE incredibly skilled, but work best as a unit, and Deadpool is not only versatile, but entirely unpredictable. However, midway through the fight, something...strange would start to happen. A beautiful appreciation (mostly with Raph and Mikey) for the surreal, bizarre trash-talk that Deadpool throws out. And within Deadpool might awaken a deep respect for these strange, anthropomorphic animal ninjas who smell faintly of cheap Italian food. And maybe, just maybe...they stop fighting, put away their weapons, and invite Deadpool out...for some pizza...then Deadpool shrugs, says he prefers Mexican and drops a stun grenade, bodysliding away before incapacitating the fearsome foursome. Deadpool takes it, but keeps it non-lethal."

Gerry Duggan, co-writer of DEADPOOL
"My son and I play TMNT VS Deadpool quite often. Those are some of his favorite toys. He’s not allowed to read Deadpool or even look at DP comics, so he’s more familiar with the turtles. I think he would say they would beat up DP, but I’m going with whoever has eaten less pizza."
