The comic, written by Mark Millar and drawn by Goran Parlov, takes a look at what happens to a Flash Gordon-type character after the adventure ends. The volume follows Duke McQueen in his later years in life, after returning from a grand space adventure. four decades prior, where his wife has passed on and he has little contact with his children. No one believes Duke's fantastic stories about travelling through space, but luckily, he's needed for one more adventure.

In the past, Millar had both KICK-ASS and WANTED adapted for the screen, so this is no new outing for him. Simon Kinsberg, who worked on X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, will produce the film. The book was picked up for adaptation back in 2013 and there's no news yet on when it will hit theaters.
