You're probably aware we really really dig THE BUNKER by Joshua Hale Fialkov and Joe Infurnari. Hopefully you've been reading and enjoying it as well. Because we love the series so much, we want to make sure everyone lets their local comic shop know they need to order this comic.

Pre-ordering is very important and helps determine the print run. It also helps everyone get their own copy. We often see news of sell outs and second printings. The reality is, most publishers would rather stores order all the copies they need the first time rather than having to go to press for a second or third printing.

The FOC for comic shops is today. That means orders are due. Give your favorite store a call and make sure they're ordering. Here's the cover to THE BUNKER #5.

Battle lines are being drawn, as Grady begins his ascent, and truth of his actions hits the other friends. But, can they confront him and change his path?

The first trade goes on sale next month. These orders are also due today.

On their way to bury a time capsule, five friends - Grady, Heidi, Natasha, Daniel, and Billy - uncover a metal bunker buried deep in the woods. Inside, they discover letters addressed to each of them... from their future selves! Told they will destroy the world in the very near future, the friends find themselves, over the next few days, growing further and further apart. Though they''ve been warned against making the wrong choices, how do they know what the right ones are? Can the future really be changed, or will an even darker fate engulf the world? Collects the first four issues of the The Bunker ongoing series.

We've even done audio commentaries with Josh, Joe, and others for the first three issues:

So why do you need THE BUNKER #5? It's a really awesome series. And don't just take our word for it, check out what everyone else is saying about THE BUNKER and Josh's other new series (also at ONI Press, THE LIFE AFTER).

PRAISE FOR THE BUNKER

“THE BUNKER tells the story of five friends who find mysterious letters inside a time capsule they buried long ago. And it’s no wonder none of them remember writing the letters; they’re written by their future selves. To add to the mystery, each one warns of an impending apocalypse, which they apparently caused. . . . . Stellar. - THE NERDIST

“Nothing less than a visit from your future self should prevent you from picking this up.”--IGN

“One of my favorite reads.”--Scott Snyder (AMERICAN VAMPIRE, THE WAKE)

“Highly recommended.”-- AIN”T IT COOL NEWS

“There are shades of The Twilight Zone, Lost and Stand by Me in The Bunker, but it's also a bit of a reverse Back to the Future situation: They're told what will happen, but each character will prime themselves differently.”-- USA TODAY

“Gripping.” -- COMIC BOOK RESOURCES

“Remarkable.”-- COMICVINE

“A great high concept, expertly done.”--Ed Brubaker (FATALE, VELVET)

“There’s a strong Lost influence in Joshua Hale Fialkov’s story, which begins with a mysterious hatch and flashes forward to a different person’s future in each issue. . . Fialkov has done solid work at Marvel and DC, but he’s at his strongest on his creator-owned projects, building immersive worlds that linger in the reader’s mind long after the last page. That setting comes to vivid life through Joe Infurnari’s vivid black-and-white artwork, which is equally adept at capturing nuanced personal emotions and hauntingly detailed dystopian settings. His evocative artwork is the ideal fit for Fialkov’s story, filled with heavy shadows that embody the new fears and anxieties introduced into the lives of these characters now that they know their future. . . . THE BUNKER is a smart, challenging comic book from two creators taking a risk.”--THE AV CLUB

“Joshua Hale Fialkov masterfully weaves a web of mystery, but it’s Joe Infurnari’s haunting panels that really set the tone.” --NEWSARAMA

“A great, tense read with a killer twist ending that will have you aching for more.”--KOTAKU

“It’s not often you come across a comic this speculative – the kind of comic that’s easy to discuss and have arguments about – and the emotional dimension makes the intellectual one all the more compelling. Agonizing on a small and large scale, “The Bunker” is, on all counts, a terrifying read. -- MULTIVERSITY COMICS

“A great sci fi story.” -- MAJOR SPOILERS

“Outstanding. . . This is what comic book writers should strive to achieve.”--WE THE NERDY (10 out of 10 stars)

“A beautiful comic.”--BLEEDING COOL

PRAISE FOR THE LIFE AFTER

“Finding love is tough, even in the afterlife... Writer Joshua Hale Fialkovand artist Gabriel Bautista take readers on a coming-of-age journey through the purgatory of suicides and other after-death planes of existence. All so a guy named Jude can catch Ms. Right.”-USA TODAY

“In comics, every so often there's that one book that just grabs you, that pulls you in and shakes you silly. The Life After is one such comic. You may not know it from the first page, or even the second, but after one read through you'll be compelled to flip back to start it again.. . . Ambitious, reflective and at times beautiful…. "--IGN

“Clever… The Life After creates an intriguing, potentially gonzo mystery.”--NERDIST

“Exciting and smart.”--AIN”T IT COOL NEWS

“Intellectual, crafty, brilliant storytelling.”--COMIC BOOK RESOURCES

“Trippy and complex. . . . a sci-fi Groundhog Day.”--COMIC BOOK.COM

A “surprising, beautiful new series.. . . It’s almost worth dying for.”--THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER/ HEAT VISION

“There is something alluring about Joshua Hale Fialkov’s new series THE LIFE AFTER right from the get go, it might be the gorgeous art from Gabo, a two page spread featuring forty panels, or the breakneck pace of the narrative. Whatever it is, it’s irresistible and confidently introduces you to the strange new world of purgatory.”--BLOODY DISGUSTING

“With great character designs, incredible linework and gorgeous colors, this book is just a joy to behold. Don’t let this one pass you by, it’s the most promising series debut since Saga.”--NEWSARAMA

“Dante meets The Matrix. This isn't your typical afterlife… Fascinating.”--COMICVINE

“Eerie and captivating . . . filled with mystery and awe-inspiring moments.”--GEEKS OF DOOM

“A tale of the afterlife, coming of age, and a quest to save everyone!”--COMICAGE.COM

“Akin to Philip K. Dick's Adjustment Team. . . .extremely ambitious.”--OMNICOMIC.COM

“The Life After is a wonderfully sophisticated piece of graphic literature that can both delight and intrigue while asking us to earnestly look inward.”--BROKEN FRONTIER”--BROKEN FRONTIER

“As fun and absurd as it is heart-tugging.”--OUTHOUSERS

“Joshua Hale Fialkov is looking to tell a story about religion - being watched over by a higher power - in the surveillance age and he sets it in an afterlife where everything is a false, Matrix-like construct with faceless individuals monitoring and orchestrating every move. When he deals with big concepts about life and death, Fialkov manages to do it with a sense of fun and adventure. . . .Here he is working with the artist known as Gabo (real name Gabriel Bautista), whose cartoony but detail-oriented style helps balance the theological heaviness with a sense of sci-fi fun.”--MENTAL FLOSS
