More change is coming to the The New 52! io9 has revealed that CATWOMAN writer Ann Nocenti is leaving the series to work on KLARION THE WITCH BOY with artist Trevor McCarthy in October. Meanwhile, io9 writer Genevieve Valentine will take over writing duties on CATWOMAN. When asked what makes Klarion special, Nocenti said, "Klarion isn't naturally heroic. He's not out to save the world or rescue anyone. He's a mischievous teenager who has done some bad things, but perhaps there's more to him. So what came to mind was an occult coming-of-age story."

This series will serve as the character's debut in The New 52 universe. Nocenti talked a bit about what genres the book will cover and where the narrative will go. "The Klarion series is a mix of sci-fi, horror and mysticism. Trevor McCarthy is a fabulous artist and he's bringing a wild, inventive style to the book. The new Klarion series explores the dynamic: Is technology saving or destroying the planet?" The writer added that she and McCarthy are creating a new roster of young witches and wizards for the title.

As for CATWOMAN, io9 says Garry Brown will provide the art and Valentine stated Selina Kyle is a character she truly cares about and wants to focus on her moral dilemmas. "She's a character close to my heart; I'm particularly looking forward to examining the nature of what it means to rule – particularly for her, since she's absolutely got what it takes, and it's just a matter of what happens when she reaches a line she knows she can't cross."
