You can't stop the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The next movie won't be out until November 8, 2013 when Thor: The Dark World is released. We know Captain America: The Winter Soldier is due on April 4 and, of course, The Avengers 2 on May 2, 2015. Today they have announced the dates for two more.

Disney has laid claim to May 6, 2016 and May 5, 2017. And that's all we know.
Now, some may be asking, what's the big deal? Why tell us just the dates if there's no other information? Movie release dates isn't as simple as it seems. There's a whole process. Studios are vying for the prime summer release dates. Often when a studio claims a spot with a major release, the other studios will respect that or simply not want to compete with another big blockbuster. The fact that Disney/Marvel Studios is already calling dibs on the first weekend of May suggests they have something big planned. They're not going to release a movie with a...lesser known character that can't carry the burden of that weekend.
So now we have to wait. While we're waiting, we can speculate. Guardians of the Galaxy will be released on August 1, 2014. With the casting news amping up, perhaps they might plan on a sequel for one of those dates, depending on how the first does. Avengers 3 in 2017? There are lots of other characters we'd like to see but you would think they want these dates for the bigger releases, not for a movie starring Moon Knight or Nova (two I'd love to see happen).
What are your thoughts. What big Marvel movie could be released on these dates?
