Welcome back to the best comic book covers of the week, where we do the obvious and talk about our favorite comic book covers over the past week. This week, there's quite a few to chose from, but there's one particular one we need to discuss right away.
SEX CRIMINALS #1 (4th Printing) by early 90s photography

I know it's early into 2014, but can we call this the cover of the year? To celebrate the 4th printing of their book SEX CRIMINALS #1, writer Matt Fraction and artist Chip Zdarsky got their picture taken and made it into the cover of the issue. This is seriously the best thing ever.
FOREVER EVIL ARKHAM WAR #4 by Jason Fabok

Up next we have the art of Jason Fabok appearing on the cover of FOREVER EVIL ARKHAM WAR #4. Fabok's art always looks great, and we love how he makes William Cobb and Bane feel larger than life. The rain hitting both of these guys is very dramatic, and overall, it's a really cool cover.
BATMAN BLACK & WHITE #5 by Joshua Middleton

Here we have the cover to BATMAN BLACK & WHITE #5 by Joshua Middleton. The overall composition of this piece is fantastic. We loved how all the bats come together to make up Batman's face, and Middleton shows that you can create a beautiful piece in black and white.
SHADOWMAN #14 by Roberto De La Torre

Next on our list is SHADOWMAN #14 by Roberto De La Torre. It's another black and white cover, with a splash of red. This is a very haunting cover and we love the layout for it. The look on Shadowman's face is the best part of this cover. It says a lot about the character.
MANIFEST DESTINY #3 by Owen Gieni

Here we have MANIFEST DESTINY #3 by Owen Gieni. This cover says a lot about the issue without giving everything away. Gieni's use of color here is fantastic and it's the type of cover that makes a lot of sense once you've read through the issue. It's simple, yet brilliant.
SHADOW #21 by Alex Ross

Finally, we have SHADOW #21 by Alex Ross. Ross' art is always phenomenal. His realistic style really stands out and he uses perspective here incredibly well. This cover is vibrant and beautiful. We love the way you can see the wind move over the Shadow as he grasps the edges of the cliff.
That does it for another week of awesome comic book covers! Did you love a cover this week that we didn't put in this list? Then make sure to let us know in the comment section below!
